The celebration of Shamm al-Naseem or "Spring Festival" began in the late 3rd Pharaonic era and the celebration took place in the city of Heliopolis about 5000 years ago.
The name Sham al-Naseem is the name of the name, meaning the word pho, meaning "the day of creation" or the mission. The spring season witnessed the blossoming of trees and flowers and their growth again after wading during the winter.
