The growing role of the mercenary army led to the ascendancy of an aristocratic family of Libyan generals who defended Egypt as the first Shi Shank. The influx of Libyan troops led to the consolidation of the empire. Shi Shank launched victorious wars against Palestine and built several of the most famous castles, but a struggle arose under his successors and divided Egypt into several independent states.

After the death of this king, he used active agreements with the countries of the eastern Mediterranean, headed by Greece, where Egypt exported its wheat. Many merchants and mercenaries appeared in Egypt and established colonies. This short launch known as the "Sayet era" is characterized by the development of commodity production, the beginning of monetary trading and the advancement of trades. This breakthrough has contributed to trade and cultural exchanges with Greece and Asia Minor.

The most active foreign policy was the policy of Nishayo II (611-595 BC), which expanded trade with neighboring countries (during which time the Nile Canal was dug on the Red Sea) and attempted to create military bases in Palestine, Syria and the Middle Euphrates , But the Egyptian and Assyrian allied forces were defeated by the Babylonians in Carchemish and the hegemony of the Near East moved to the new Babylonian Empire.

During the reign of Psametic III, Persian forces entered Egypt, torn by internal strife, and defeated the Pharaohs in Beloz (252 BC) and ended their independence.
