A rare and fine example of so-called "Egyptian blue" ceramic ware, this lovely vase has a form similar to contemporary vessels of alabaster. Now at Walters Art Museum
Egyptian blue is a pigment used in ancient Egypt for thousands of years. It is considered to be the first synthetic pigment.
